The Amish Uber can be found in Colon over the weekend giving rides during the 81st annual Abbott's Magic Get Together. This might be another example of how the Amish are disciplined in adapting or not adapting technology. He just likes the name.

To get a ride you have to flag him down without a cellphone. You can hail a helicopter. I knew many people and still know them who were committed and dedicated Amish believers who have cellular phones and who use them regularly. If only as a tourist thing, I can easily imagine some of my more adventurous Amish friends doing this very thing. His engine, a horse, has a lot more character. Rather it seems like it is appealing more to non-Amish — and may just be another name for a buggy ride business. . . .
